Connie T. Jones

Ph.D., LCMHC-A, NCC, LCAS

Dr. Connie Jones holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Virginia Tech and a Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling & Educational Development at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She holds the following professional credentials: Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA # A14415); Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS #23302); National Certified Counselor (NCC #759360), and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS #2455). She provides individual and group services. She believes that through empathy and understanding counselors can connect with clients of all walks of life in a way that will be invaluable to not only the therapeutic relationship, but in the daily lives of both parties. Dr. Jones has worked clinically with clients who have been diagnosed with substance use disorders, long-term mental illness, offenders, adolescents, and older adults. Dr. Jones’s therapeutic approach is person centered and is based on the individual‘s needs and from a multicultural and strength-based perspective.
